I have been hooked on AHRMA since I discovered it in 1994! First time I went to
an AHRMA road race, I went into the pits, and my eyes popped out seeing all the
cool old race bikes!! I road raced first in 1999, then on to vintage motocross
in 2000. I went to AHRMA Bike week in 2000 for my first vintage MX, it was
fantastic. I am into OSSA, Penton, and Post Vintage Japanese motorcycles.
I race Classic 250 Expert on a 1970 Ossa Stiletto and have won several AHRMA
national championships from 2000-2004. My new interest is Penton motorcycles, I
race a Penton 125 six-days in Classic 125 Expert, and Ossa Phantoms in the
Sportsman 250. I still road race off and on, I placed 4th in Daytona on a Honda
MT125R road racer in 2000, fulfilling a dream of running on the huge Daytona
track, taking the "high banks" at 100mph is a thrill not equaled anywhere!!
Well, now it’s 2005, and I have a “vintage problem” with a lot of vintage and
post-vintage bikes and race every chance I get. I encourage everyone who is
curious to go and watch and get involved in Vintage competition, be it Road
Race, Motocross, Dirt Track, Trials, etc. I have personally met many of my
younger days 70s motorcycle “legends” in person due to AHRMA, they are all like
the rest of AHRMA people, the nicest group you’ll ever be associated with! It is
fantastic stuff! You will have the time of your life!! Call me if you need any
advice or info. on vintage motocross, road racing, or anything Ossa..
See you at the track!!!
