One More Try

It looks like things are back on schedule for the Great Lakes region again. This year will be your last chance to ride the Great Lakes unless more people start showing up at the races. Turnout has been too low lately, and the coordinators, volunteers, and track owners are taking the hit. We need to see more riders showing up to the events, or there will be no more events to attend. It’s up to us, as riders to make it work.

I’ve been trying to get an idea of what would make the races even better, and this year there are going to be a few more classes added, so just about anyone with a bike will have a spot to race. Actually the rules really haven’t changed at all, but I thought I would let everyone know what they have been missing. The classes this year will follow the standard AHRMA structure with a few extras. The extras are just about everything. It will depend on how many of each type of bike shows that will determine what classes will be set. If 10 guys show up with 100cc bikes, you can bet there will be a 100cc class. If you show up with a sidehack, there’s room for it. It pretty much includes all bikes, and all ages, so bring your kids and let them have as much fun as the rest of us.

So dust off your pit bikes, mini bikes, 100’s, and any other bike from 1984 to 2007, because you will be able to run them. Also, dust off your friends and family too, and bring them as well. Remember, if you want to see any other races in our area, besides Mid-Ohio, then all you need to do is show up.
