The first Board of Trustees meeting of 2016 was held May 2 at Crooked River Ranch, OR. The Board elects its Executive Committee each year at the first meeting; this year’s EC is comprised of new Chairman Carl Anderson, new Treasurer Kelly Shane and re-elected Secretary Rob Poole.

Anderson wrote the following for the June issue of AHRMA MAG:

The Board of Trustees has elected me as AHRMA’s new Chairman. I was greatly honored by their vote of confidence, and I accept the duties of the office with steadfast determination to further the cause of vintage motorcycling in America. I want to thank outgoing Chairman Mark Hatten for his years of service. Mark brought a high degree of professionalism and business acumen to the office, and AHRMA secured some important new opportunities, such as the AHRMA Vintage Motorcycle Festival in New Jersey, under his guidance.

The tasks before an AHRMA Chairman include not only the duties of a Trustee representing the best interests of all AHRMA members with fairness and integrity, but also to preside over the Board. At times there are different points of view among Trustees, representing differing views of the members themselves. The Chairman must assure that all points are heard, discussed fairly, and acted upon according to the bylaws and for the well-being of the entire organization.

These are exciting and perhaps pivotal times for AHRMA. We have come through financial hardships and currently our business is quite strong in comparison to many other American racing organizations. We are seeing new members joining at an encouraging rate. I will work hard, as will the rest of the Board, to assure that AHRMA remains the premier vintage motorcycle racing organization in the western hemisphere.
