Due to several weather-related race cancelations, the number of events to count for year-end awards has been reduced in three of AHRMA’s off-road disciplines.
The 2017 Race Tech National Post Vintage MX Series will now be based on a rider’s best five event finishes, a reduction from the best-seven finishes announced at the beginning of the racing season.
The 2017 Preston Petty Products National Vintage MX Series will now be based on a rider’s best six event finishes, a reduction from the best-seven finishes announced at the beginning of the racing season.
The 2017 John Penton/Preston Petty National Cross Country Series will now be based on a rider’s best nine event finishes, a reduction from the best-10 finishes announced at the beginning of the racing season.
AHRMA needs to look at putting some sort of contingency in place for cancelled events. Perhaps last place points for everyone entered in a class. Something needs to be done or I expect participation will go way down.
I agree with Bob Bean be pre-entered and drive all the way to an event only to have it canceled on race weekend and come away with nothing is not right Bill Goldsby
I drove to three canceled events.. Next year they need to come up with something for those that put forth a lot of time and money to attend and support the series and the promotor instead of a thank you for your donation….
Has the minimum number of events been lowered as well.
No, it’s still four events to qualify for year-end trophies.
