AHRMA is responsible for the organizing and initiating the ballot process with the members and providing Allred Jackson, P.C. the correct criteria for counting the ballots. This agreed-upon procedures engagement was conducted in accordance with attestation standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Consequently, we make no representation regarding the sufficiency of the procedures described below either for the purpose for which this report has been requested or for any other purpose.
Our procedures are as follows:
We were responsible for receiving, protecting, verifying membership, counting timely legitimate ballots, and determining proper east/west candidate votes. AHRMA was responsible for sending out ballots, handling postage arrangements and costs, providing us with a list of AHRMA members, and providing the accountant with any other information requested with respect to the election ballot count.
We have counted the election ballots for the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association in compliance set forth in our original proposal. We only accepted ballots that were properly filled out and sent in by the indicated date. Doug you are so right. I attempted to post a letter about the actions Mr. Connor was taking to redirect a vintage organization. I called Matt, he didn’t think letter was out of line but It never did get printed . Mr. Connor did email me but didn’t print my letter so everyone could read it. Would it have changed the election? I don’t know but I might have made a few people think a different way. Did he misuse his powers as Trustee? It’s up to you to judge,
Administration you have no right to censor comments simply because you don’t agree with the opinion. If it’s not derogatory the language is clean and it’s the truth you are out of line.
Can I (or anyone else) also re-new my Competition Membership along with First Class delivery of AHRMA MAG for $45.00, as Mr. Gretsky has apparently been able to do? I’ll use MotorsportReg.com from now on if the discount is that deep!
Allen, the renewal fee for competition memberships online is $65 as opposed to the fee of $75 which is charged for sending in a paper renewal by email, mail or fax. Is a $10 savings (and saving postage) sufficient for you to sign up online?
Just a question… I know… I know… Look it up… I paid the club to be a rider… Which, who knows I may want race again so I paid up… RACE DISCIPLINE QUANTITY FULL FEE DISCOUNT NET FEE CLASS/DESCRIPTION BIKE NO. BIKE BRAND $ 35.00 AHRMA Membership – ending 12/10/2018 $ 10.00 First Class – (Shipping (Vintage Views)) ======== TOTAL CHARGES: $ 45.00 So am I listed as an ASSOCIATE or a FULL MEMBER…??? Just asking… CONGRATS to ALL WINNERS… May we have a safe and fun season… WG
Walter, I just checked the membership list, and you are listed as having a competition membership which will expire 12/10/2019.
Thank You !!! I appreciate your fast response… Let’s have a GREAT YEAR…!!!
Walter, I had someone question the $45 fee that you described above, and so followed up with Elli Klein, Membership Director. She explained your recent membership activity, and your membership fee was $65, not $35. Please check your credit card statement.
I’d like to thank our trustees for volunteering their time.
Not sure why they do this to themselves. But thank you anyway.
Mr. Burns what is it the trustees do to themselves? They are elected to serve not scheme. To be clear we have some extremely honest trustees and then we have one that purchased his way on the board through illegal associate member votes. The name of VV is changed with zero member input. Cross country voting shows up after a thirty year precedent of east and west simply to further attempt to manipulate results. We have the COB and a trustee soliciting proxy votes at the Rio Bravo National year. The Executive committee saw fit to print Murray Hayes original derogatory trustee statement. The total lack of protocol in trying to attempt to remove to members from the roster. The blatant disregard for the by laws, the removal of The Hilgenberg’s from VV without cause, the removal of others from committees without cause and, the best, the ongoing negotiations to bring Mr. Ianucci back into the AHRMA fold after he nearly destroyed it. Yes you’re correct why would they put themselves through this. Politics without Principles doesn’t work.
Why is it Mr. Connor that in the previous Vintage Views on Page 16 under voting rules you specifically state the Associate members are ineligible to vote? We deserve to know how many Associate member votes were counted and who received them. It’s clear that they were used and purchased to put one trustee in office a year ago. So now the handbook trumps the by laws? I don’t think so.
I have asked Cindy Mclean to add the page out of the handbook regarding Associate member voting. It is Page 114 of the 2018 Handbook. Associate members have all privileges of membership except the privilege of racing. This is according to the handbook and has been this way for many years. We have over 300 associate members and many have voted for a long time. Best we can tell this has been in the handbook since the 1990’s. This year the board of Trustees have agreed to resolve the difference between the By-Laws and the Handbook by allowing Associate Members whose renewal dates that occured before October 31st 2018 to vote in this election. Next year, Associate members will not have the voting privilege. Dave Lamberth will be sending out cards to all associate members informing them that in order to vote in 2019, you must upgrade your membership to a Full Membership. The handbook is corrected for 2019. As part of this board, we have all agreed that we will be looking for these discrepencies and conflicts between the By-Laws, Handbook and previous practices to better define how AHRMA is to be run.
Thank You
Luke Conner
Chairman Of The Board
Attached is page 114 of the AHRMA 2018 Handbook per Luke Conner’s request.
How convenient you write above associate members have all the rights except racing. Then below that you follow it up with next year they will not have voting privileges. So as COB you knew the by laws and decided to look past them one more time. Politics without Principles! If my comments continue to be censored on this website simply because you dont care for my opinions I shall seek relief. I’m not threatening, my language is clean, I simply don’t agree with what’s gone on. The boards job is to serve not scheme.
Since the person I “wrote in” is not on the list above, does that mean my votes were not counted? As far as I know the person is a full member in good standing.
the election is NOT legal/legit as Associate members CAN NOT VOTE! and the trustees knew this going in and ignored it! the VOTE IS ILLEGAL
As a current card carrying member I (we) have a right to know if Associate Member votes were counted. We’re they? The by laws clearly state there ineligible.
I want to thank everyone in AHRMA for participating in the 2019 Trustee Elections. The number of members that voted was significant which I feel proud to be a part of. Elections are our voice in many ways and its exciting to see how many spoke up. Special thanks go out to those that voted for me in this year’s election. I look forward to seeing everyone at the tracks
Mr. Connor were Associate Members votes counted? As a current member I (we) have a right to know. Clearly as stated in the by laws they are ineligible.
Congrats to the young, handsome trustee who was re-elected. Kudos to the old crotchety one who was re-elected too.
Thank you for your continued trust. I promise to always do my best for the good of our organization!
congratulations to the newly elected trustees… someone voted for me as a write-in (certainly wasn’t me) so i must have at least one fan out there, chicago jerry grakauskas
