Attention Racers: Please read the rulebook and ensure your motorcycle is legal for the class in which you compete. The rulebook describes in detail what you can and cannot do. If you have questions, please contact the appropriate committee chairperson *before* the event. Event technical inspection is responsible *only* for ensuring your motorcycle meets AHRMA’s safety standards, not class legality. While protests are initiated by racers in the class, AHRMA does have the ability to inspect any motorcycle pre- or post-race to verify compliance with class rules. Per the rulebook, refusal by a competitor to allow an inspection of their machine by AHRMA officials will result in a 13-month suspension. Bottom line: Read the rulebook, and make sure your bike is legal for the class!

I have a 72 Yamaha LT2 enduro, can I use Ceriani forks or either XR 100 forks for vintage racing
Forks must have been manufactured prior to 1975 — most Cerianis are legal, XR100 forks are not. Thank you!
What is the penalty if a racer’s machine is challenged and he offers to forfeit?
According to rule 6.1.14 in the AHRMA Handbook, the penalty for failure or refusal of an engine teardown or inspection is the loss of racing privileges for up to 13 months.
Are leading axle simons forks legal for vintage mx?
No, but they can be used in post vintage MX.
I have a 1982 YZ100 and was wondering what class to race this bike in.
Assuming it’s of similar technology to a 1982 YZ125, the class would be Ultima 125.
The only thing the 125 and 100 have in common is the rear suspension design. The 100 is a air cooled non powervalve motor.
What classes do TZ750 and TZ500 qualify for road racing? Thx!
They run in Open Two-Stroke.
If I was wanting to race in Ramsey Illinois on Sept. 13 and 14th 2014, what is the latest year of a Yamaha YZ 250 can I race? Is it 1974,1975 or 1979?
IN THE 50+ CLASS
The latest YZ250 in any vintage class is 1974. Post vintage classes include YZ250s 1975-1984. Hope to see you there!
Thank you for posting this.
