All events scheduled for Diamond Don’s 18th Annual AHRMA National Vintage Motocross in Jefferson, Texas, September 10-13, 2020, will happen as planned. So, come on out for some fun. Trials, Cross Country, VMX, PMX. Plus, our usual Charity Golf Skills Challenge, Rhumbar, Meet & Greet, Church Service and Wine-down party. As many have said, this isn’t just a race, it is an extravaganza. Come see old friends and meet new ones.
We strongly recommend pre-registering to minimize contact with our scoring/sign-up team and we have modified our No Refund Policy to accommodate more pre-entry. Pre-enter offline by August 28 and online by August 31. If you can’t make the trip, you can cancel and receive credit any time before midnight on Tuesday September 8. Thereafter, entries will be non-refundable.
To reduce contact with our RV Office registration staff, please download the waivers (three of them) and sign before you come. Visit www.DiamondDon.com for full race schedule and information, to review our COVID-19 plan and download the waivers. Directions also found at this site.
Be sure to review the schedule closely as there have been some changes since last year: At promoter’s discretion, 70+ will pay to ride, VIP passes are limited to sponsors that barter product and/or services, COVID-19 plan in effect.
Gary Semics will be joining us as our weekend legend. There will be a raffle bike and other prizes from our sponsors to help underwrite expenses and support youth activities in Jefferson. The bike was donated by Jere & Tracy Kellough, tires were donated by Broc Glover and Dunlop and bike restoration donated by Chris “ChillyPepper” Richardson, Mike Haynes, Scott Sears, and many others.
The wide, flat grassy pit area offers great viewing of the racetrack that runs through the pasture and into the piney woods. Diamond Don has created a natural terrain grass track reminiscent of the early 70’s with a few new sections. Vendors and concessions available at the track.
Jefferson, located just one mile from the track, is nestled deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas and seems frozen in time. It is a charming small town and an elegant reminder of a bygone era. There are over a hundred buildings in the city with historical markers. Many historic homes offer bed and breakfast accommodations. Dozens of other historic buildings house museums, craft and antique shops and restaurants. Jefferson also offers kayak and canoe rental, gemstone mining and panning, carriage rides and other attractions.
We are looking for a great turnout to keep this race viable for many years to come. Come early, stay late. Shop, dine, stay and play. There is a lot to do in family-friendly Jefferson.
