The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) has confirmed it will once again host Classic Drags at the AHRMA Classic MotoFest™ in the Heartland, at the Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, Kansas.
The event will take place Friday night, May 27th at the world class NHRA sanctioned quarter mile drag strip at Heartland Motorsports Park, Topeka KS and will feature five classes of vintage and next generation super bike drag racing under the lights bracket racing format. Look for 3-wheel sidecar rigs in the mix. New for this year by request, post 1992 modern bikes are invited in for the fun too. The addition of modern machines will enable local enthusiasts to get in on the Friday night excitement. Drag race tech inspection will open at 5pm with the competition getting underway at 6:30pm
Competition classes include Vintage Flyweight 0-250cc, Vintage Lightweight 251-500cc, Vintage Middleweight 501-750cc, Vintage Superbikes up to 1982, and Next Generation Superbikes from 1983-1992. Bike tech will be performed by Heartland Motorsport Park’s drag racing tech crew using standard HMP rules. The modern machines can also run as a bracket or just for fun and exhibition.
Classic drag racing is a natural fit for AHRMA. Drag racing started here and it’s an American Sport. AHRMA is truly multi-disciplined, so AHRMA events are a great place for vintage motorcycle drag racing to flourish
