Introduced in 2021, and running again in 2024, the Dick Mann Team Challenge (DMTC) honored an icon of motorcycle racing with a new competition that brought together each American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) on and off-road disciplines. Teams were formed and competed against each other with each team member assigned to Road Race, Vintage Motocross, Dirt Track, Cross Country or Trials competition.
The 2024 Dick Mann National Vintage Challenge (DMNVC) will still bring together all of the AHRMA disciplines, but will be more in line with the Grand National Championship format that Dick Mann competed in, with a twist. Instead of teams, the 2024 Dick Mann National Vintage Challenge will have individuals competing against each other, riding 4 out of 5 of AHRMA’s disciplines, requiring that one of the four are road race or dirt track.
The winner of the 2024 Dick Mann National Vintage Challenge will receive a personalized trophy and will have their name added to the original Dick Mann Team Challenge perpetual trophy. A unique Dick Mann National Vintage Challenge jacket, displaying the “2024 AHRMA Dick Mann National Vintage Challenge” series title, the title “CHAMPION”, and rider name, will also be presented to the Champ. In addition, a future AHRMA Mag cover will feature the 2024 DMNVC Champion.
Each event for all disciplines will be scored using off-road points per the AHRMA Handbook, 11.6(d.
