I would like to address AHRMA’s decision to adhere to the directives of our Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and curtail some AHRMA events.

In the last few days, some promoters of AHRMA Off Road events in California and Oregon have had to cancel or postpone their events in order to comply with local COVID-19 regulations. The Executive Committee will be meeting today to plan how AHRMA events in the next 8 weeks will be affected by Centers for Disease Control (CDC), State and local COVID-19 regulations.

Specifics on individual events will be posted as soon as they become solid.

It may appear to some that the current virus situation is over-blown compared to past epidemics like the ‘swine-flu’ and ‘Ebola’. Research tells us that COVID-19 (coronavirus) has two characteristics that make it worthy of more resolute actions than other recent viruses.

First, COVID-19 carriers are less likely to show symptoms, allowing for runaway infection due to a false sense of clean health during personal interactions. This plays right into the hands of characteristic two, which is COVID-19’s ease of transmittal compared to the other viruses of recent years.

Let’s keep ourselves and those around us safe to race another day by minimizing social contact.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Chairman of the Board
