For the 2017 racing season, the Harley-Davidson XR1200 will remain eligible to compete in modern roadracing’s Sound of Thunder (SoT) 3 class.
The Board has voted to review the machine’s status for 2018 during the normal rules-making process at the July and October Board meetings of 2017; there will be a member comment period between the two meetings. Due to a clerical error, the bike was included on the SoT3 eligible list in the 2015 and ’16 Handbooks, but will continue in ’17 until due process is completed.
