My name is Luke Conner, I have been racing with AHRMA since 2005. I have was elected as a Western Trustee in 2016. I was selected as Chairman of the Board of AHRMA for 2018. My business CPL Systems was the National Road Race Sponsor for over five years along with class sponsors for over ten years. I have put my heart and soul into the organization and now working with a very qualified board of Trustees, we are working hard to continue AHRMA as the premier place to race our favorite motorcycles.
Due to the Passing of Cindy Cowell prior to the Little Talladega Race this year, I spoke with Dave Lamberth and volunteered to function as Interim Road Race Director. After meeting with several of the trustees, it was agreed that I would stay on for the balance of the 2018 year and for the 2019 Road Race Seasons. I am doing this as a volunteer with no compensation for the position. I will work with all the management of AHRMA to put in place all that is needed to facilitate the difficult task of finding a suitable replacement for Cindy Cowell.
This year’s Barber event was quite successful and it was due to the excellent staff and volunteers that Cindy had already put in place. I am proud to be part of such a great organization. I will work very hard to ensure that we continue the Cindy Cowell Legacy and continue the growth and excellence of our passion, racing motorcycles.
Thanks Luke. I have known you since you came to AHRMA and I know you bring a wealth of skills to the organization. There is a great staff behind you and I know you will carry on with the great traditions of the past and bring the AHRMA organization forward.
