New schedule, website for Great Lakes region

A new website has been launched for the Great Lakes region, www.ahrmagl.org. Regional coordinator Dave Woolever (left) has worked to assemble a strong schedule for 2016, including several vintage and post vintage motocross races, a regional-only cross country and the ISDT Qualifier in Bentley, MI. He is looking for race-day help with sign-up, tech, photography and more. Email davewoolever2@yahoo.com to volunteer, or for more information about the region.

Would like to get into AHRMA racing but I am having a hard time figuring out what year motorcycles are allowed. What is the newest model year that qualifies?

    Thank You

For vintage motocross or cross country, the newest year-model bike is 1974 (or like design). For post vintage MX, there is no strict date cut-off. The Ultima class includes the latest machines recognized for a National championship — anything pre-disc-brake or pre-powervalve. There is a support class, Pre-Modern, at all events for machines with front disc/rear drum brakes (this is also a post vintage cross country class).

Is there a 2016 schedule yet for Dirt Track racing? We are trying to plan for vacation time at work.
    Thank You,

No, the ’16 dirt track schedule is not yet ready, but it will be posted as soon as the information is available.
      Thank you.

So what class for 86 400xc has a front disc?

Machines with a front disc and rear drum brake can run in the Pre-Modern support class at post vintage events.

I have a 75 CR250 and was wondering if AHRMA consider this a (and like design) for vintage?
    Thanks

No, the 1975 Honda CR250 is a different motorcycle than the ’74, and is not of like design. It runs in the Historic 250 class of the post vintage motocross and cross country programs.

And, yes, the gates are open Friday 4-10:00pm, and the track address is 6911 State Route 133 Blanchester, OH 45107. Enjoy!
