This was followed by a YTD Financial report as of September 30, 2019.

The Open member-comment period (9:00-10:00am) had presentations from many attendees expressing passion for racing vintage motorcycles, sidecars, AHRMA as an organization, etc. There were numerous observations and suggestions conveyed regarding such things as inclusion and blending of more modern classes into our programs, more support for AHRMA Vintage classes, challenges associated with the change to MotorsportReg, marketing opportunities, what attributes hooks newcomers onto AHRMA, etc.

Rob Poole brought about some discussion related to the change from Eastern members voting only for Eastern Trustee candidates and same for Western candidates. After lengthy discussion of the issue, Kelly Shane asked Chairman Luke Conner if the board would vote again on the policy. The Chairman declined to bring a vote.

Kelly Shane presented his findings on the prospects of electronic voting for AHRMA’s annual Trustee elections. His recommendation is that we can use Associated Voting as our vendor for administrating and certifying the upcoming election. A motion, second and vote was unanimously approved to go forward with the electronic voting and conduct an email vote to confirm the necessary physical changes to our Bylaws in support of this change.

There was a discussion about AHRMA taking on Vintage Drag Racing as a discipline. It was decided to run a limited number of “exhibition” races in 2020 with the goal of making the discipline an official championship for 2021 with a set of classes and rules. Luke Conner volunteered to head this up as AHRMA’s Drag Racing Coordinator.

The majority of the time at this Board Meeting was devoted to review of, and voting on, each of the Rules Proposal Submissions. Trustee Arthur Kowitz took the lists of submissions originally compiled Kevin Burns and added the Members Comments feedback for each for the Board to review in advance of actual voting.

There was a brief Closed Session held at the end of the meeting.
