CHAIRMAN GT OPENING COMMENTS

Welcome to our Annual General Meeting, our first of three Board of Trustees meetings in 2025.

On behalf of the Board, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our members. A special shout-out to those joining us in person today, as well as to our sponsors, venues, promoters, paid staff, and the many dedicated volunteers, including those who serve on this Board. Your commitment and enthusiasm are what keep AHRMA thriving.

I’m pleased to welcome our newly elected trustees: Jeff Bushey and Ellen Voermans from the Western Region, and Jeff Oakley and Tod Miller from the East. Congratulations, and thank you for stepping up to serve.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our outgoing trustees, Kelly Shane, Al Anderberg, David Rutherford, and Mike Dixon, for their years of service and contributions to both the Board and the AHRMA community.

I’d also like to take a moment to recognize our 2025 Executive Committee. Luke Sayer will be serving as Secretary, and Tim Terrell as Treasurer. I’m truly honored and humbled to serve as your Chairman this year, and I look forward to working with this outstanding team and Executive Director and Chair of the Special Committee in the year ahead.

2024 was a remarkable year for AHRMA, and 2025 is already off to an exciting start, with each racing discipline diving into full national and regional schedules.

As we look ahead, we remain focused on four key strategic objectives to guide our efforts in 2025:

  • Enhancing the membership experience
  • Prioritizing safety and insurance
  • Maintaining sound financial management
  • Continuously improving our business processes

Throughout the day, our Executive Director will walk us through how our team plans to execute on these strategies.

Thank you once again, and to the AHRMA Northwest Region for hosting us this weekend at the Burrow’s Ranch National. It was an exceptional event and a fantastic venue for the board to come together and kick off the season.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT

Dan May presented  summary level Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for 2023 and 2024

  • Debt reduction from $350k to $100k with $50k payment per year committed
  • $230K profit is actually $130k due to $100k loan forgiveness.  May pay an additional $50k early if year end reserve allows.
  • Discussed OR & RR as carrying each other and balancing out and we depend on both disciplines
  • Financial allocation is done in most fair way
  • Print magazine & handbook to members took virtually all membership dollars in prior years.
  • Sponsorship revenue summary- 50 sponsors with $177,500.00 in 2024 and increased to 53 sponsors and $192,000.00 billed (as of 4/4/2025) for 2025. Some costs come out of these dollars for commission and sponsorship perks.
  • Loss of Bridgestone as title sponsor levels out in the end for net $ retained and does not adversely affect AHRMA.
  • Tightened up on Legacy Sponsorship and ensures AHRMA benefits positively
