Peter Starr, writer/producer of 40 films, including 1980’s “Take It To The Limit”, is offering a very-limited-edition, leather-bound version of his book, “Taking It To The Limit – 20 years of Making Motorcycle Movies”. The book highlights the behind-the-scenes stories of films Starr made over a 20-year period, featuring many of the top racers of that era. Twenty-five copies have been autographed by most of the featured top riders (see image). This is certainly a collector’s piece, as only 25 have been made, and there will be no more! They are numbered and certificated. Anyone who donates $1000 to Healing Arts Education Foundation, will receive one of these very unique, highly collectible, autographed books.
Starr shares his foundation’s work:
Dear AHRMA members:
As you might know, since being diagnosed with prostate cancer over 10 years ago, I have studied the causes of prostate cancer, and the ways that we might reverse the disease naturally. Based on studying the statistics and the outcomes of conventional treatment and the prospects of living a long and healthy life, I chose not to accept conventional treatment, but to seek out a better way.
After six years of studying the issues and having spoken to 56 doctors from 8 countries on 3 continents I produced a documentary “Surviving Prostate Cancer without Surgery, Drugs or Radiation” and founded a 501c3, Healing Arts Education Foundation, through which I continue to conduct outreach educational programs to men’s groups.
Prostate cancer is reaching almost epidemic proportions as far as diagnoses are concerned with around 230,000 each year – 30% higher than breast cancer for women. Statistics are showing that men who do nothing, are as likely to live the same life span as men who have undertaken conventional treatment. The difference, of course, is that the untreated men suffer no impotence or incontinence problems as a result of the treatments, not to mention the high rate of cancer reoccurrence.
I am sure you are equally aware that raising funds to keep a Foundation such as this operational, is equally challenging. With this in mind and since much of our new outreach work is through presentations at motorcycle dealers to their customers, I am making this appeal to a few motorcycle industry people who will value the incentive we are offering.
My book, “Taking It To The Limit – 20 years of Making Motorcycle Movies” highlights the behind the scenes stories of the 40 films I made over a 20-year period, featuring many of the top racers of that era. In fact, it is very much a “who’s who” of that time. I have had 25 copies leather bound and autographed by most of the top riders featured in the book, including one or two who unfortunately have now passed. A complete list is on the attached presentation piece. This is certainly a true limited edition, collector’s piece, since only 25 have been made, and there will be no more! They are numbered and certificated.
Around the holidays, I know many are looking at what they will donate to worthy causes. As a motorcycle enthusiast and cancer survivor I want to offer you a chance to make your charitable donation go even further.
For the first 25 people to donate $1000 to Healing Arts Education Foundation, I will give one of these very unique, highly collectible, autographed books. You will be donating to a cause that affects many of your friends and will receive a limited edition thank you as a result.
If you have any questions about his offer or the work this Foundation is doing, please call me personally at 310.312.0012 or my cell 310.874.1014
Kindest regards,
Peter Starr
